Nothing here is a coin toss dressed up as tarot. Each step follows a practice tarot readers actually use.
The year card: numerology
Your card for the year comes from Mary K. Greer’s widely used Year Card method: add your birth month, birth day and the current year, then add the digits of the total until you reach 22 or less. That number names a Major Arcana card (22 is The Fool).
The day and month cards: a real shuffle
We simulate nine riffle shuffles, the number needed to mix a deck of 78 cards thoroughly, turning a packet around now and then as readers do, which is where reversed cards come from. Then the deck is cut into three piles and restacked. Your name, birthday and the date are the seed, so you get one honest draw per day and per month.
The deck and its meanings
The art is the Rider–Waite–Smith tarot drawn by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909, now in the public domain. Meanings follow A. E. Waite’s 1910 Pictorial Key to the Tarot and the modern reading tradition built on it.

Why does my card stay the same if I read again today?
In tradition you draw your daily card once. Your name, birthday and the date seed the shuffle, so asking again on the same day returns the same card. Tomorrow brings a new shuffle; the month card changes each month.
What does a reversed card mean?
A reversed (upside-down) card points to the same energy turned inward, blocked, delayed or overdone. It is not automatically “bad”. Year cards are read upright, as in Greer’s method.
Why is my year card always a Major Arcana card?
Year cards are calculated by numerology rather than drawn, and the numbers 0–22 map to the 22 Major Arcana, the cards of life’s large themes.
Do you store my name or birthday?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser. If you tick “Remember me”, your details are saved only on your own device.
Can tarot predict the future?
Tarot is best used as a mirror for reflection, not as a forecast. Please don’t base medical, legal or financial decisions on a reading.
